"I lost a second child, when Ojo Ladipo (Baba Mero) died. The two of us were at the burial, I woke up,but my baby did not wake up. It really discouraged me, but I summoned courage that I had been doing the work for long; I won't allow all these to stop me. "I believe what has happened has happened and that God would take care of other things and take care of the rest. It actually shook me to the extent that I almost quit acting," she narrated.

The Nigerian Entertainment Conference held over the weekend at the Grand ball roomof the Eko Hotel and suites, Victoria Island, Lagos was nearlymarred by violent exchange of words between Kennis Music Boss Mr. Kenny Ogungbe and Chairman of Copyright Society ofNigeria COSON, Chief Tony Okoroji. Chief Tony Okoroji had confronted Kenny Ogungbe in the presence of journalists for daring to say in public that COSON owed him (Kenny Ogungbe) money.

“How could he say such a thing? And in public?” Chief Okorogie fumed. Kenny Ogungbe and Chief Okoriji shortly before the exchanges Kenny Ogungbe on hispart remained resilient, insisting he would stand by his words. They exchanged hot, abusive words impossible to publish including the F word as they werepulled apart by concerned friends who feared the brawl may soon go physical. Kenny Ogungbe went on to say “After now, if anything happens to me, it is on your head” The incident happened immediately after the first sessionof the conference where Mr. Kenny Ogungbe had been amongst a panel of discussants along side Cool DJ Jimmy Jat, Sound Sultan, MI and Weird MC during which pertinent industry issues had been raised.

The panel before taking questions from participants discussed “Looking at the music scene through the eyes of talents, labels, investors, consumers, regulatory bodies. The role of an artiste in the digital age and lastly, surviving in a peculiar industry like Nigeria.

However Weird MC in her openinghad raised questions on the “exploitation of our works”. She noted that the music industry is no longer about just entertainment but a business thatshould be accounted for. She claimed that music properties of artistes were being exploited with no form of payments made as settlements.

Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) is Nigeria’s sole government approved collective management organization for musical works and sound recordings. Weird MC specifically asked the society if they had any kind of international affiliations with international music copyright regulatory bodies to help check the exploitation of works put out by Nigerian artistes. According to her “We need to address the International Affiliations involved cause this is abusiness.

Kenny Ogungbe had stepped out after the panel to re-emphasis these statements made by Weird MC to reporters before making the comments that infuriated Chief Okoroji. After the heated argument, both were too angry to speak further on the testy issue.

Obama Says, "I've got 99 problems and Jay Z is one of them"

The annual White House Correspondent’s Dinner is typically a light-hearted affair, and this year’s installment was no exception. The Dinner tends to serve as an opportunity for the President to show off his sense of humor and pop culture savvy, and with a President as charismatic as Barack Obama, these events tend to be ripe withentertaining moments.

While Obama obviously poked fun at himself and at those right wing media outlets who consistently have derided him throughout his two terms in office, he made sure to offer up enough hip-hop references to have the community talking for quite some time. Prior to the President stepping to the podium, the crowd in attendance was treatedto DJ Khaled’s “All I Do Is Win.” Obama clearly enjoyed the moment, even synchronizing his hand gestures to match the chorus.

“How do you like my new entrance music?” Obama jokingly asked the audience, waiting for those assembled to sit back down before going right into therest of the speech. Later on, Obama had the chance to take a slick jab at Jay-Z, who caused a media frenzy with his visit to Cuba and subsequent “Open Letter.” Talking about issues that he has to deal with that are out of his control, Obama said, “It’s unbelievable… I have 99 problems and now Jay-Z is one of them.”

Interestingly enough, the President does not appear to be as concerned about Beyonce, who also went on the trip with her husband and created her own controversy at the recent inauguration by apparently lip-synching the National Anthem.

I Let B-Red and Sina Rambo Leave HKN, Because They Lived InMy Shadow - Davido

Its no long a gist that that HKN Boss Davido and his cousins, SinaRambo & B-Red even had to physically fight themselves because the cousins were not happy that Davido was getting allthe shine.

B-Red got himself a new deal with another company after bothcousins decided on leaving the label. Sina Rambo, though denied the reports in a separate interview with another media house, but according to a recent interview with , here's what Davido had to say about the whole issue when HipHopWorld asked him about it.

"B-Red & Sina Rambo, people knew they were with me for about two years. But earlier this year, I felt like it’s time for them to start their own stuff. I’m sure they were even tired of being in the shadow of me and all that.

B-Red, I think has a management deal elsewhere with another company, I’m not sure exactly, but they shot his video for him and everything. And Sina is in America working on some new material. I really want them to stand on their ownbecause they’re talented and need to be heard, instead of them being behind me all the time. We still family”.

Davido may be recruiting new soldiers to replace the ‘lost’ ones. In March, he had signed Ghanaian rapper Deekay and more recently added singer Orezito his list.
