Nollywood Actor, Jide Kosoko Beaten And Assaulted By Video club owners

Veteran actor, Jide Kosoko, last Friday morning, October 11th, 2013, confirmed to Nollywood Insider that he was actually
assaulted and injured in the fracas
involving members of the Video Rental Operators of Nigeria (VROAN) and some Yoruba movie makers and marketers.
The ace thespian said, “I was injured in the debacle but I would not like to comment further on it on the telephone.”
Meanwhile the President of VROAN,
Kassim Olatunbosun aka Boe, has been declared wanted by his members and thebpolice. He is accused of wanton embezzlement of public funds at his disposal. Kassim is said to have
mismanaged the royalties for marketers and film producers that his members paid into the coffers of VROAN over the last two years. They also claimed that he
refused to call for elections after staying in office for more than 10 years . according to information made known to NOLLYWOOD INSIDER, after a long
meeting at the Cultural Center, Alausa, Ikeja, on Thursday October 10th, 2013, by his members and other concerned stakeholders, the enraged crowd besieged
his Onipanu office calling on him to
render account of his stewardship as VROAN’s henchman. However, on sighting the crowd while he was having his weekly meeting with executives of the association, Kassim managed to scale over

been in the office for close to 10 years.
We have received several complaints that
his tenure has since lapsed, and that there should have been an election, but he insisted on staying. This is coupled with other atrocities of his, so the BOT had to invite him, but he refused to come to any of the meetings on several occasions. He goes about with thugs with
dangerous weapons, most of whom are not owners of video clubs.
”When his members wanted to make trouble with him, we said no that they should leave the matter to us, the BOT. I advised him personally, but he refused to yield to advice.

He then wrote a letter saying he will hold elections in December which angered his members. The BOT then took some policemen to his office, only for us to get there and find thugs all over the place. They thereafter got violent with us, and one of them threw a bottle of water at me; using charms to threaten us.”
Meanwhile, JideKosoko disclosed that the matter is now with the Nigerian Police Zone 2,

Ice Prince: My Life Took A Dramatic Turn When Dad Died

From humble beginnings in Jos,
Plateau State, Chocolate City's
wonder kid, Panshak Zamani
popularly known as Ice Prince has
grown to be one of the hottest and
most respected rappers in the
country.
Thanks to his victory at the 2009
Hennessey Artistry where he came tops.
And while it may all look rosy on the outside, Ice Prince has revealed that it's not been easy after his dad passed away,
adding that just like any street kid, he's had his own fair share of ups and downs, and so fans should not be carried away by the glitz and glamour which has become his trade mark today.
Though, born to upper middle class
parents, the Oleku singer insists he was not born with a silver spoon, he and his siblings had all they desired until his dad died in 1999 and life took a Dramatic turn!

"I wasn't born with a silver spoon," Ice Prince told The Entertainer's TONY OGAGA ERHARIEFE in an exclusive chat backstage during the 8th edition of Julius
Agwu's comedy show, Crack Ya Ribs held at Nicon Hilton, Abuja, recently.
Dressed in all white designer T-shirt and pants with a muffler dangling around his neck, Ice Prince peered at you from
behind designer glasses crested with a fez cap which gave him that clean cut look of an American marine but for his goatee.

"My dad was not a billionaire, neither was he a pauper," he said arching his bushy eyebrows to drive home his point,
"he sent us to good schools and we had vacations outside the country; we were okay but in 1999 I lost him!

"It was a big loss for me and my family. I was 13 and the eldest kid; I had a mum and two younger sisters to look out for and so I had to grow up overnight; thank God for family support."

Recounting the person of his late dad who was a soldier in the Nigerian Army, Ice Prince described him as a great
source of inspiration and like every son would say, his father was a great dad. He said dad went the extra mile to make sure he and his siblings had all they wanted.
"He was a soldier," he states in his
characteristic cool and calm voice, "he taught me everything I know today. My mum was very supportive but she died in 2011, so right now I am an orphan."

How does it feel losing both parents
early in life?

"It feels lonely! We were three kids; a boy and two girls and I am the eldest. I became the man of the house after my dad passed on and that has given me a sense of responsibility. It made me grow up overnight!

"I am 27 but my responsibilities are
more than that of a 27-year-old. I have to take care of my sisters. I thank God for elevating me. I guess I was called to do this (music)."

According to Ice Prince, he would ever be grateful for the lessons he learnt from his parents, which have gone a long way in shaping him today. He says that while his dad taught him to be responsible right from an early age, his mum taught him to respect women.

Don’t Mind Showing My Body Parts But Not Nud* –Upcoming Actress Ella

Ella Mensah isn’t exactly a household name in Nigeria, but one to reckon with in Ghana, where she plies her trade. She
was recently in Nigeria to shoot a film where she met a Vanguard reporter for a, chat.
In a space of five years the sexy Thespian has had more than 30 movies in her kitty.
In this chat, the sexy Ella talks about herself and what makes her tick.
Excerpts:

Tell us about yourself?

I’m Ella Mensah, a Ghanaian actress based in South Africa and Ghana. I’m doing some movie shooting right now in Nigeria. I came here for the first time on
October 1st last year, and since then, I have about 30 movies. I’ve been here for a year, but I come and go. So far, I’m loving it.

What has your acting experience been like?

So far, so good. A lot of challenges here and there. When I came back , I had a baby. As a mum, I was a bit fat and it was difficult to get some roles. I had to work on myself, I stopped breastfeeding and all
those motherhood things. It took me a year to come back after that three-year break. Now I love every minute of it. It’s
like I’m living my dream. This is all I
wanted and it’s perfect for me.
Was your mum a single mother?
Yes, I met my dad for the first time when I was nineteen years old. That’s why we don’t have that kind of very close relationship. It was also why I tried to live his dream, be a journalist for him because I wanted him to love me. But I realised that it wasn’t worth it, my mum’s love was okay for me. So what I really plan to do with my team is to open an NGO for single mothers.

Are you married?

I’m not married and I’m not single. I’m in a relationship. Though I’m no longer with my son’s dad. My son and his dad are in South Africa now.

What physical attribute would you say is your selling point?

(Laughs) I heard that word “selling point” for the first time in Nigeria. Most of my friends say it’s my lips and I think it's true. Then my height, my face and my ass. People are attracted to different things. Personally, I think it’s my face, height and lips.

Would you act nude for any reason?

No, I don’t see why I should. Fine, I
don’t mind showing certain parts of my body, especially when playing a seductive role. I can wear a bum short or maybe a net top. But I’ll never go nude, not even for ten million dollars!

I Have Reduced The Way I Wear Mini Skirts Because I Will Be 40 This Year- Chioma Toplis

The actress spoke to Vanguard about her style, why she dresses the way she does and how she single handedly trained her
children.

Why do you dress the way you dress?

I wear what I feel comfortable in. In fact, I dress according to the occasion.
Presently, I have cut down on the kind of clothes I wear because of the fact that one is no longer a child. I have decided to
reduce it a bit especially when I am in Nigeria. It is not that I flaunt my cleavages a lot but it depends mostly on the kind of clothes I’m putting on at that moment.

I have reduced the way I wear mini-skirt. I just want to be wearing clothes that suits my age. I am going to be 40 sometime this year. Not that you won't see me in other wears like when I am going clubbing but I have really cut down
on those wears. To my husband, it is not a big deal. He even loves to see me in mini.
For sometimes, I have not made my
coloured hair. Anybody that wants to talk about my dress sense, the person should go ahead and do so. Some people misunderstood me, they judge the book by its cover. Some people may conclude
she’s irresponsible. If I am irresponsible, I won’t be in marriage of 18 years now. I
wouldn’t have brought up my son who is going to be 19 years soon.
I am so proud to say I have three children whom I brought up single handedly . Over the years, my husband doesn’t live with us. He is always working outside the country. Now, he doesn’t live with us.
He used to live in Dubai but now, he resides in Kuwait . When people sit back and gossip someone, they should remember that I have three grown up children I brought up from the scratch. If people want to judge me by how I dress or any other thing, that’s their business.
