Real Reasons Why Funke Akindele’s Marriage Kenny Almaroof Crashed

It was indeed a shocker when in the early hours of Monday, July 15, 2013 it was widely reported that actress Funke Akindele and her husband Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede are no longer together.

What started on blogs and social media soon spread to national newspapers.

Funke Akindele remained silent for days, and many fans hoped this was yet another wicked rumour.

Months after the wedding, Kehinde was reported to have impregnated a certain lady, Modinat Nike Dada. The couple did all they could to cover up the mess, but it was out in the open.

Apart from Modinat, there was the eldest wife, Fadekemi, who felt betrayed by Kehinde’smarriage to Funke.

Sources maintained that Fadekemi and Modinat neither supported Funke Akindele’s marriage to Kehinde and even though he went ahead to marry her, they firmly objected the union. It was gathered that there were issues from Funke’s family too, especially from her immediate family. But the lovers went ahead, against all odds. And it seemed to all that they had both found happiness in one another.

What went wrong?

With more angles now coming out, including allegations that Almaroof, has become a serial baby daddy, keeping a string of affairs, and even returning to the women he had prior to the celebrity wedding with Funke Akindele, it was only a matter of time before it was all out in the air.

Funke Akindele had disgruntled wives to contend with. There were many fans, friends and colleagues too, who felt she did not need to settle with an already married man ; with the attendant drama and chaos. But, as it is in the things of love, Funke went ahead to tie the knot in what was unarguably, the most
expensive, most glamorous celebrity wedding of 2012.

‘Everyone close to them knows the thing is not working and Funke Akindele is very unhappy.

People have been advising her. She has just been busy shooting and trying to occupy herself. Couples separate and come back together.

Even some divorced couples still settle. So why are people talking as if this is final?’ one friend said over the weekend, insisting ‘people should mind their business or pray for the couple’ Funke Akindele was happy beyond limits on her wedding day. And the days to come were full of bliss.

So were did it all go wrong? Or was it a facade all along?

Why the marriage failed
Prior to their high society wedding, it was widely reported that Kehinde had several children from different women, a fact that was no mystery to Funke. It was reported that he was married to two of the women, an allegation that the ‘Jenifa’ star denied in an interview with a publication.

Funke Akindele boasted, ‘I can tell you authoritatively that my husband is not married to anyone else. Yes, he has beautiful children, who are not mine and we have a cordial relationship, which dates back to even before we got married.’

For months there had been concerns that Funke’s husband was rarely seen around her at most events she honoured. Mr Oloyede photos are nowhere to be found on Funke Instagram page where she’s very active.

It was also widely speculated by observers that the marriage, right from the inception, seemed like it was destined to fail because of all the controversies that surrounded it.

From Kehinde’s many wives to many children, and of course alleged strings of affairs, many opined it was surely going to hit the rocks sooner or later.

Moreover, for some reason, the couple allegedly chose to live apart, an action which, sources say, did not help their bonding.

If Funke Akindele no longer trusted her husband, then she was not alone. Many say it is possible Almaroof became suspicious of a very busy woman, especially with her endorsement galore and frequent trips.

But, unlike Almaroof, it is not certain if there were confirmed instances of infidelity on Funke’s
part. ~

'Stars Dance' Review: Selena Gomez's Debut Solo Studio Album

Selena Gomez has gone into a studio and recorded her new album "Stars Dance," which consists of 11 pop songs she didn't pen herself backed by instruments she isn't playing. It might be fun for the causal young summertime
listener. But it begs the important question:

Why bother?Artistically, there's very little Selena Gomez here. This is merely the veneer of Selena Gomez, the look and feel of the pop
starlet set atop a middling musical effort.
There are lightly emotional lyrics that appear to reference her high-profile romance with ex Justin Bieber, but it is surface stuff and less than revealing.

Gomez's lead single and Billboard top 10 hit, the catchy "Come & Get It," is about the best
offering here, thanks to Stargate's club-heavy beat. Songwriting and production assists from Ester Dean, The Cataracs, Rock Mafia and Desmond Child add polish, but it would be nice to unveil more of Gomez and less of the
production team pros.

"Stars Dance" is the 21-year-old's first album without her band The Scene. She sings the word "baby" 22 times and "dream" 27. She
makes stars dance on, wait for it, "Stars Dance" and takes on a hokey, reggae-inflected tone on "Like a Champion." If the pace fuels
your body with dancing energy then Gomez has, one can only assume, done her job.
Indeed, this feels like a job. This feels like a vibrant young woman of Disney pedigree simply punched the clock and worked through
an already cooked musical plot foisted upon her. Gomez might be an incredibly talented and interesting person with much to offer artistically, but we'll never find out at this rate.

Patience Jonathan's mother dies in a car crash

There was anxiety in Port Harcourt on Monday as news of the death of Mrs. Iwari- Oba, the mother of the wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience, spread in the Rivers State capital.

The mother of Mrs. Jonathan was said to have been involved in a ghastly motor accident along Elele Road in Rivers State.
It was gathered that the woman, who is from Okrika Local Government Area, was on her way to Bayelsa State when the accident happened..

Unconfirmed report indicated that her corpse was taken to Kpaiyama Mortuary by a team of policemen and a member representing Ogu Bolo State Constituency, Mr. Evans Bipi, who is a relative to the deceased..

Though, the police and the Federal Road Safety Commission in the state could not confirm the incident, an aide to Bipi said the First Lady's mother died in a road accident, which occurred at about 4pm.

Bipi's aide, Mr. Fred Itobo, said that the President's wife's mother was involved in the accident while she was on her way to Bayelsa
State..

"Yes! She was involved in an accident and she died. Her body has been taken to a mortuary. Bipi was among those who took her body to the mortuary," Itobo said.

When contacted, the State Director of FRSC, Dr. Kayode Olagunju, declined comment on the matter, saying, "I cannot say anything on this matter now until I get full details."

Though effort to get reactions from the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Angela Agabe, proved futile, she had already told a journalist on the telephone that she had not been briefed on such crash.

MBGN 2013 was a complete fiasco – SK Johnson

>

Let’s just get this out of the way now; Saturday’s MBGN ceremony was a mess.
I just wanted to say that now, so we don’t start assuming this is a piece about what was good about it, or trying to analyse what went wrong, or celebrating anything about it. No.
There’s no point to any of that because the whole thing was a complete fiasco.

Just to recap, for any who might have missed it, on Saturday the 20th of July, the 26th edition of the Silverbird Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria pageant was held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state, with 18 year old Anna Ebiere Banner from Bayelsa State emerging the overall winner; and yes, the whole proceedings were, again, a mess. Where to even begin? No, seriously, where? I’m asking because I’m not even sure myself.

Okay, we’ll just go with the obvious
fact of Miss Bayelsa winning because the event was hosted in Bayelsa. I say that like a fact because in my eyes, it is a fact. There’s no way around the blatant “arangee” nature of it all. Of course it wasn’t just because she was from Bayelsa and it was hosted in Bayelsa, I mean, there was clearly a lot more behind it, none of which had anything to do with any possible merit on the part of Miss Bayelsa (not to say she’s ugly or anything)
Next there’s the issue of the quality of the broadcast, although what’s the
point at all? I mean we’ve been
watching these events for years with horrible picture quality which only seems to be getting horribler (yes, that isn’t a word but it deserves to be just for how much it suits this issue) as time goes on. Then again, was it even the broadcast? I mean, the event was so shoddy in its organisation (or pretense that there was any such thing at all to begin with) that not even the best broadcast quality could have saved it.

And when I say organisation I mean
everything, right down to the ridiculous questions the girls were asked (which will shamelessly be used to back up the nonsensical claims of the pageant being about “beauty and brains” later) to how terribly they covered up their own agendas. From correcting questions on stage (I mean really?) to Miss Abuja struggling to spit out an answer that she had obviously crammed beforehand – making it even more clear how staged the whole thing was – what was Silverbird really trying to say?
And then, of course, this…

Yes, that is Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde
being presented with the Silverbird
Unique Personality Award.
I’m sorry, but what the heck? Now, you know I have nothing but love for Omosexy and I believe her rosy cheeks deserve any award they get, but what in the world is a “Unique Personality Award”? Since when is a pageant an opportunity to give awards to people who aren’t contesting? And, again.

“Unique Personality Award”? Really? Why not just call it “The Award We Made Up To Secure Omotola’s Presence at MBGN”?

I’m asking too many questions. I’m
tired. And I don’t know why. Why
should I even care? It’s just a beauty pageant, after all. I mean, if I’m that upset about it, I should just go organise my own, right? I don’t know. I really don’t. Maybe it’s the fact that it's something that’s being sold to the public as a free and fair contest, regardless of how vapid the conceit of the whole thing might be.

But hey, we’ve been watching these
things for years, and next year we’ll
most likely watch it all again and come back with even more complaints. Let's hope next year they actually make a bit of an effort to cover up the sham.

George Zimmerman Made His First Appearance By Rescues Someone From Truck Crash

George Zimmerman has made his first appearance after his acquittal. The man who shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was spotted at an intersection on a Florida highway saving someone’s life.
How ironic.
Sanford Police Department Capt. Jim McAllister explains that Zimmerman, “”pulled an individual from a truck that had rolled over.”
The Florida Highway Patrol is now
investigating.
We’d imagine Zimmerman, who has a so-called ”hero complex,” is very pleased with himself.
The acquittal prompted dozens of protests across the country this past weekend and his lawyers have said that Zimmerman has been the subject of death threats. His lawyers said Zimmerman has been wearing a bulletproof vest when he ventures out in public.
Zimmerman’s parents told ABC News’ Barbara Walters they too have received death threats and have been unable to return to their home.
“We have had an enormous amount of death threats. George’s legal counsel has had death threats, the police chief of Sanford, many people have had death threats,” Zimmerman’s father, Robert Zimmerman said.”‘Everyone with Georgie’s DNA should be killed’ — just every kind of horrible thing you can imagine.”
