BOKO HARAM: Soldier stabbed On His Way From His Girlfriend's House In Jos
A member of the Special Task Force
(STF) maintaining security in Plateau State was stabbed by a suspected rival early Monday along Muhammad Wada Street where he went to visit a girlfriend.
The soldier whose identity could not be immediately ascertained was said to be on his way from the girlfriend around 4.am when an unknown man stabbed him.
It was not clear if the now hospitalised solider, who was dressed in mufti, had any argument with his attacker to warrant the stabbing.
A resident who did not identify himself said it might not be unconnected with earlier complaints by some boys in the area that soldiers were snatching their girlfriends.
The soldier was said to have been rushed to a hospital where he was admitted for treatment.
The stabbing of the soldier generated anxiety among residents who feared a reprisal from soldiers.
Many residents were said to have abandoned their homes for fear of possible molestation by soldiers and only returned later in the day.
STF Media Coordinator Captain Salisu Mustapha who confirmed the incident said the victim wasresponding to treatment.
