BIG SEAN ADDRESSES KENDRICK LAMAR'S CONTROVERSIAL "CONTROL" LYRICS

G.O.O.D Music's Big Sean has stepped forward to break down his new "Control" track and, specifically, the emotion collaborator Kendrick Lamar poured into it.
Blown away by Lamar's bars, Sean noted the competitive nature of hip-hop being on full display with the previously unreleased Hall of Fame track.

"When I heard [Kendrick's] verse
I wasn't about to go back and
change my verse--that's
cheating," Big Sean tells VIBE.
"That ain't the way of an O.G.
That ain't how G's move. I
wanted to [release the song] for
the culture of hip-hop as
opposed to myself. "It's hip-hop.
It's a sport. It should get back to
being competitive if that's what
people want to do. I ain't no h*e
a** n*gga like that to hear a
verse like that and be like 'I
gotta go back and [rewrite] my
sh*t, I gotta go protect myself.'
Nah, it is what it is. I'm a good
a** rapper. I just want people to
remember I had the song. I knew
what it was. No, I didn't change
my verse because I'm not a h*e
a** n*gga. I'm a real a** n*gga
from Detroit. I rep for everything
that I do. I knew what it was
going to do for hip-hop. I knew
what it was going to do for the
culture. This is the most exciting
rap song to drop this year this
year. Period." (VIBE)

Rappers React To Kendrick Lamar Calling Himself The King Of New York

Kendrick Lamar didn’t hold back when he took to the mic on Big Sean's new single 'Control' released Aug. 13.
The 26-year-old Cali born rapper called out some of hip-hop’s top acts with his verse claiming that
rap is all about competing with
colleagues.

He also crowned himself the King of New York!. Lamar's lyrics, which begins at approximately three minutes into the. song, include:

"I'm usually homeboys with the same
n----s I'm rhyming with/ But this is hip-
hop and them n----s should know what
time it is/ And that goes for Jermaine
Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale/ Pusha T, Meek
Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake/ Big Sean, Jay
Electron', Tyler, Mac Miller/ I got love for
you all but I'm tryna murder you n----s/
Tryna make sure your core fans never
heard of you n----s/ They don't wanna
hear not one more noun or verb from you
n----s/ What is competition?"
His words sparked quite a reaction
on Twitter with fans and rappers alike stating their opinion. Even emcees who. weren't called out by Lamar had something to say.

I Won't Marry An Actor - Tonto Dike

Controversial Nollywood actress
Tonto Dike has revealed the reason
why she doesn't want to get engaged to a fellow actor.

She said "I am not too
strong to fall in love; I am
human and I have feelings
too. I don't think there is
any woman on earth that
has not experienced love in one form or the other. But it's not possible for me to marry an actor; I can never be caught doing that," Tonto explodes.

She said about herself, "I am a role
model to those who see me as one; I am sure Nigerians out there see and read all these things and they laugh. I am sure there are people out there who I appreciate what I do as an actress and hope to someday achieve what I have
achieved as a thespian."
Her response to why she is
controversially inclined sent a blow to her fans.

"My career thrives on
everything; my career thrives on all the ups and downs that I have been faced with. But most especially, the controversies have made me stronger and wiser. I don't care about them because they don't care about me;
everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. I live my life the way I want to.
People should also remember that I am human and no one is perfect."

Lady Gaga Releases New Single

Lady Gaga has released her new
single, Applause, after a number of
snippets leaked online. "A pop music emergency is underway," tweeted the. star as the single was distributed to iTunes and YouTube.
Applause, the singer's first new material since 2011, was originally scheduled for release on 19 August.
Leaks are almost a fact of life for today's pop stars, with Beyonce, Katy Perry and Jay-Z all seeing unauthorised material appear online this year.
Of 2013's major releases, only David Bowie managed to keep his new album under wraps.
The release of his comeback single,
Where Are We Now, on the morning of his 66th birthday came as a surprise to fans and critics around the world.
Low quality clips from Gaga's record first began to appear online on Saturday.
"Lord in heaven, why?" the 27-year-old tweeted, blaming hackers for the leak.
"You just couldn't wait. This is too much for one Saturday."
At first, she mobilised fans - asking them to report leaks to her record label - but by Monday evening she had relented and released the song to radio and online
stores.
A short burst of robotic pop, Applause has so far received positive reviews. Calling the single a "throwback" to her
earlier material, Rolling Stone said
"Applause is all bouncy disco and simple messages".
Billboard magazine said it was "built around pulsating synthesizers and morphs into a thrilling dance cut when it
circles back to its chorus".

But Spin magazine said Applause "offers. few reasons to clap", calling the track "bland" and "behind the times".
Lady Gaga is due to give the first
performance of the single at the MTV Awards on 25 August. Her third album, ARTPOP, will be released in November.
