Jonathan Not A Weak President — Allison-Madueke

External factors and local
impediments tried to scuttle
President Goodluck Jonathan's
ambition of repositioning the country in the first two years of his
administration, a book edited by the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke has stated.

In the book titled, "Goodluck Ebere Jonathan: Champion of Women," the minister also said Jonathan was neither a weak nor indecisive president.

It said the psyche of Nigerians who held that view had been affected by long years of military rule that made them believe that leaders must be aggressive.

It added that with his consuming passion for the progress of the country, there was no doubt that the President was leading Nigeria to a good place.

The book was presented Wednesday at a mid-term presidential dinner held as part of activities marking the second anniversary of Jonathan's administration.

Although the book did not identify the "external factors" that compounded the administration's woes, it listed the activities of members of the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, in the North and kidnappers in the South as some of the local impediments.

It added that it was impossible for the Federal Government to separate the external factors from local impediments.
According to the book, technological
advancements including the use of
mobile phones contributed to the
problems.
It stated that the first two years of
Jonathan in the saddle of affairs were full of threatening challenges capable of making the President lose focus.

The book said however, the challenges made the President more inspired to steer the ship of the nation to a safe haven.

The book read, "The first two years of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan administration were met with tough, even threatening challenges.

"The Boko Haram insurgence in the
North and the spate of callous
kidnappings in the South could quite easily have shifted all focus away from the President's clearly outlined transformation agenda.

"Ironically, however, the President
seems even more inspired to steer the ship of the state to a safe point where the dignity of every Nigerian is preserved; a point where our right to contribute to productive decision-making is assured, where our balance of payment is no longer in deficit, where we do not consume more than we produce, where every Nigerian can boast a healthy standard of living, where our women take centre stage in the whole process of social and economic transformation.

"While the local impediments to the
President's ambitions are unrelenting, external factors have compounded the matter further, making it impossible to separate one from the other.

"We now live in a world where a click of your mobile phone takes you to the global marketplace. This may seem adventurous and exciting to some, but the impact on the local market is incalculable."

While reeling out some of the
achievements of the administration in two years, the book stated that Jonathan was determined to fulfil all his electoral promises in the lifespan of his administration.

It described the President as an
honourable man who had always been reluctant to say in public what he did not plan to put into practice.
According to the book, Jonathan is
already on course to deliver in excess of his commitments across all sectors of the economy.

R-E-V-E-A-L-E-D: ‘how Oyedepo, onaiyekan, Others Tried To Save yar’adua’

Family warned to evacuate ex-president 3 weeks before death – PFN scribe The late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua may not have died had the family heeded
the advice to evacuate him from Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja three weeks before he died.

National Secretary of Pentecostal
Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Pastor
Emmanuel Nuhu Kure, one of the four pastors who visited the Villa to pray for Yar’Adua at the height of his sickness in 2010, disclosed this at the weekend.

The three other pastors were Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith World Outreach, aka Winners Chapel; Cardinal John Onaiyekan, the Catholic Bishop ofAbuja; and erstwhile Aso Rock Chaplain,
Prof. Yusuf Obaje. The pastors visited the seat of power for the prayer session after Yar’Adua was flown back from Saudi Arabia where he had been taken for treatment for an undisclosed illness.

Late President Yar’Adua. The PFN National Secretary said he told the Yar’Adua family at the meeting that there was the need to take the president out of Aso Rock within three weeks to keep him alive.

According to him, however, they shunned the advice as they were afraid that President Goodluck Jonathan, then vice president , would take over (power) if they took him out of the Villa immediately.
“Of course, I was not obeyed and exactlythree weeks after that visit, he died”, Kure, based in Kafanchan, Kaduna State, bbut spoke to Sunday Vanguard in Lagos, last week, said.

Narrating what transpired at the prayer session for Yar’Adua, which he claimed lasted about 10 minutes, “sharp and straight to the point”, the PFN leader said: “When we went in there, they pulled me aside and said the reason you are here sir, go beyond that, can God show mercy? Can God change these things? It’s like deep inside of them, they felt he (Yar’Adua) might not survive And they had the right to ask God for mercy. That was why they called in the Muslims and the Christians”.

He continued: “So I knew my own
mission but I sensed things do not
happen like that and I told them what would make him escape death. I told them privately. That is, me and them, it had nothing to do with the four (he and the other pastors). My reason for being called was slightly different from the other three. I think Oyedepo was called because of the miracles (he was performing) in the Living Faith Church.

We were called in because they believed we have access to God and that we could pray some effective prayers that would help the matter.

‘Not politically convenient’
“I told them the Lord said that within three weeks they should take him out of the Villa to somewhere he’d be without pressure. That was the time the polity was heating up.

I told them to take him away from there (Aso Rock) because while there within those three weeks, even if as much as one mosquito bite him, he would die. I told them I saw only three weeks. So if they had taken him out within those three weeks, maybe God would have shown mercy and given him some rest and added some time to his life. “I don’t know how much, I’m not God.

I’m just an oracle who spoke for that season. And the understanding I go later, I was told they couldn’t take him out because it was not politically convenient.

They were afraid that Jonathan would take over if they took him out immediately. He kept him there to ensure that Jonathan did not take over even when it was to the detriment of his health. Maybe it was a tactical move; the wife had no say in the matter”.

Captivity Exonerating the former president’s wife, Turai, from blame over the failure to move Yar’Adua from Aso Rock as advised, Kure said, “Nigerian politicians are very complicated and sophisticated people when they know their interests are at stake; they will use you to remain relevant. They will keep you there until they get what they want. I think she was also in captivity.
“Of course she would wanted her
husband to live; she would have wanted to remain the first lady naturally. Let’s not pretend about these things.
Constitutionally it was not her call; it was the politicians’ call which was what the people in the National Assembly and Nigerians were making that, `let the constitution have its way’. It was a constitutional call, it was not her

Blogger Linda Ikeji Accused Of N50,000 Fraud (see Photos & Proof)

This is his statement release:

As a Social Media Marketer, I come across several clients who need to get Nigerian blogs, and news sites to review their products and services, which I never hesitate to direct them to eiher Nairaland or Bella Naija as the most effective websites for getting the highest click - through rates, and most honest comments.

Some clients prefer to get on gossip sites like Naij.com or Linda Ikeji Blog despite my reservations and reasons. Naij has recently made themselves popular for using Russian hackers to redirect Etisalat subscribers to their homepage at some point, and Linda Ikeji is known amongst bloggers for her horde of hired hands, using multiple identities, and devices to post dozens of comments and spark irrelevant arguments, not forgetting her vicious fabrications euphemised as idle gossip.

A Port Harcourt based artiste, M-Kaze, recently consulted with Bar Baric Entertainment for promotional services, for which among several bloggers and micro-bloggers, his label chose Linda Ikeji.

All the bloggers sent invoices and we're pre-paid. By 9:41am on the next day, Tuesday, 18th June, 2013, Linda Ikeji was paid N50,000 (FiftyThousand Naira) in
line with her quotation, which indicated that the AD would be posted in 48 hours

Aside from the fact that Linda Ikeji Blog could not accept a brief from which they were supposed to write their own unique story, but requested a full pre-written press release, things really started getting awry when by Thursday evening, the client called to complain that their AD had not been posted.

All avenues were employed in getting in touch with Linda Ikeji, and her staff, yet to no avail. Eventually, she was sighted on Twitter tweeting links from her blog, and a tweet was sent to her demanding the AD be set up immediately. Instantly, we received a call promising that the press release on M-Kaze would be posted “first thing tomorrow morning” (Friday).

On Saturday, at noon, another call was placed to the Linda Ikeji team, after the advertorial had not showed up the entire morning. They claimed they were having difficulties posting the link to M-Kaze video. Knowing quite well that the same link had been posted by more than 15 other blogs, yet eager to avoid debates which would further delay the promotion, the root URL to the video was provided within the hour. Still, same link was still being requested over, and over again, via various channels, till 5pm on Sunday. At that point, we had to specifically request that the AD was not posted on a Sunday, since Sundays had the least Internet activity. They agreed, claiming we’d see our dvert on Monday.

All this while, I was dealing with tens ofbcalls of lamentations, and threats of contract termination from my clients, most of the calls I made to the Linda Ikeji contact number were either cut off, or unanswered. When eventually, I would contact them via text or Twitter with a strongly worded message, they’d give me a very brief call, claiming they’ve been driving, and making more promises for “first thing tomorrow morning” again. I began to visualize Linda Ikeji and her staff akin to Dangote truck drivers.
By Monday night, everyone had become fed up with the routine of the Linda Ikeji “first thing tomorrow” antic.

The AMA Sound CEO who had never called me directly, did so at this time, requesting that the article be withdrawn and our payment be refunded. A text message was sent again to Linda Ikeji after which her which a call was put through to us for consolation, but after hearing that we were inconsolable, they agreed to make the refund, again, “first thing tomorrow morning”. They even sent us a text message urging us to collect the money physically, like though we could just walk into our computer, unto Linda Ikeji blogspot.

Even though there was no refund made to our account first thing in the morning of Tuesday 25th, 2013, as usual, the surprise however, was that no payment was made at all, even by 4pm. This time and around, a call to Linda Ikeji was not taken lightly, as the receiver of the call made it clear she was not the person, Linda Ikeji, but the Business Manager of the blog, and that she had better things to do than repaying our monkey. Going ahead to use several expletives in referring to us.

Wednesday, still no refund, yet an
additional feature now was a claim that our N50,000 had been refunded.

On Thursday, 27th June, I had made clear that this incidence of Advance Fee Fraud would be first reported to GTBank, then the EFCC, and finally, the Police. Several threats and insults were hurled from the Linda Ikeji camp.

Linda Ikeji herself who had come in direct contact with the client, AMA Sound, and made a claim that no money was ever paid into her account regarding their promo. Instantly, she effected the transfer (5:04pm, Thursday, 27th June, 2013 ).

The purpose of publishing this incidence is primarily to make a call to all upcoming artistes and entrepreneurs who have fallen for this Linda Ikeji Promo Fraud to come forward. Obviously, threats have been made to them but with the necessary courage, they will be
recompensed. Secondly, I want to make it absolutely clear to everyone who may be mutual acquaintances to myself and the culprit, that for making me lose such a valuable client, I’m suing herself, and her entire establishment for breach of contract, and seeking punitive damaged against Linda Ikeji, and the Linda Ikeji
Blog.

Police Fired Stun Grenades at Anti- Obama Demonstrators in South Africa

Police on Saturday fired stun
grenades and rubber bullets at
hundreds of people protesting in
Soweto against US President Barack
Obama's visit to South Africa.

Protestors burned US flags and portraits of Obama, chanting:
"Arrest Obama, not us" and "Whose country is this?"
Several bangs were heard as the police tried to move the demonstrators away from a campus of the University of Johannesburg where Obama later addressed a town hall event.
The demonstrstors over-stayed the time allocated for the rally.

Police spokeswoman Sally de Beer told AFP that "Police asked them to disperse, but they did not," "So police used stun grenades and two rounds of reduced rubber (rubber bullets)."

A witness said at least two people
suffered rubber bullet wounds, however the police denied the claim. None of the protestors was arrested.

Police had to hold back some people as Obama's convoy drove into the campus.

Members of the South African
Communist Party and anti-Israel groups held up posters depicting Obama with a moustache like that of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

"The message is clear. We want him to honour the promises he made when he became president, including things like the closing of Grant anamorphic Bay," 30-year-old protester Firoz Osman told AFP.

The university hosted a meeting between Obama and young leaders from all over the continent, as part of his message that it is time for a new generation to lead Africa into a new era of democracy and prosperity.

Soweto is a sprawling township where riots sparked a nationwide struggle against the former racist apartheid regime.

Famous Nigerian Singer Reveals How She Lost Her Virginity

Famous Nigerian singer, Dona Diva, a native of Delta state was recently
interviewed by The Entertainer.

She had a lot to say and she also opened up on some private stuffs.

Excerpts

Who is Dona Diva?

My real name is Dona Adjah and my stage name is Dona Diva. I'm from the Urhobo speaking part of Delta State. I am into music and fashion.

How would you describe your
experience as a singer?

It's a bitter-sweet experience but I have chosen the sweet part of it. In
everything you do, there are bound to be ups and downs. I combine fashion and music together and it's quite exciting because I appear on stage with my own hand made costumes and people are like, 'nice dress' even before I start performing. It's not really been easy but I'm having fun.

Tell us about the single you have on air?

The single I initially dropped was Shut Up. I did it because of people who tried to run me down. I am saying Shut Up to these negative people because I know you can achieve anything as long as you believe in your dreams, in yourself and in God. The new single is New Gaga; I am dropping its video any time soon. It's all about music and dance. The message is, just enjoy the music, feel the rhythm and let go off your sorrows.

Could we say you're not married
because you're distracted by the
loads of rich guys hanging around
you? Do you believe in love?

Love does exist. I don't know whether it is true love but it does exist. But the fact that I mingle with rich boys doesn't mean I wouldn't know who to choose when the time comes. I can't replace love with material things or riches.

Isn't your boyfriend scared you might dump him for a richer guy?

I don't know how he feels but he
supports my career.

Isn't he sometimes worried?

Yes, sometimes I see it in him but he supports me.

Have you ever had a crush on any of your fans before?

Yes, I was having this crush on a guy (laughs) but I found out he's married so I had to let go.

What was it like the first time you had sex?

You say wetin? (laughter) It was a lot of crying because it was painful. The same thing I think for every girl.

How was it like performing for
Obasanjo and Jonathan?

I performed with Sugar Band at
Obasanjo's birthday and I was excited. I also performed for President Jonathan. I saw him smiling as he watched me. I felt so special that my president appreciated what I am doing; it was a great experience for me.
