In a rare interview,
Kanye West has spoken about his love for reality TV star Kim Kardashian and their baby daughter North West.
The rapper told talk show host Kris
Jenner, who is also Kardashian's mother, that his life sometimes lacked purpose before they met.
Fighting back emotion, he said: "After I lost my mother, there were times that I felt like, you know, I would put my life at risk.
"I felt like sometimes I didn't have
something to live (for) and now I have two really special people to live for, awhole family to live for, a whole world to
live for."
Kanye, who is not fond of giving
interviews, also took the opportunity to answer claims that his relationship with Kardashian could harm his career.
He said: "I could have people saying,'this is going to damage your credibility as an artist or as a designer'. And I say, 'you know, I don't care, I love this woman'.
"Or someone would say, 'when the
paparazzi surround you, how could you, everyone knows you don't like paparazzi, why would you be with this person?'
"And I'm saying, 'I'm being with this
person because I love this person and she's worth it'."
He went on: "You know, my grandfather just passed and his whole thing was never about money, it was never about popularity. His whole thing was joy, just joy, like having joy in his life.
"(Kim's) my joy and she brought my new joy in to this world and there are no paparazzi or blog comments that are going to take that joy from me."
