MASS DEFECTION: PDP Lost At Least 200 Members to APC in Osun

PDP Lost At Least 200 Members to APC in OsunAbout 200 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State have switched to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifon, Orolu Local Government Area of the state, barely few months to the governorship election.
APC chieftains in the State, led by the Acting Chairman, Elder Adelowo Adebiyi, welcomed the new members at the APC Secretariat in the capital city of Osun State, Osogbo, on January 22, 2014, Wednesday.
The APC leader in the state warned the new members to abide by the rules and regulations of the party and advised them to be loyal and ready to work for the party so as to win elections ahead in the state beyond reasonable doubt.
Prince Adekunle Benson, the APC State Deputy Treasurer, who introduced the defectors, said that the defectors meant well as elections in the state are forthcoming, which means they are very ready to work for the party development and victory.
He also promised them that nobody will be marginalised because “we are one in the progressive camp”, adding that their joining is a signal that “the opposition PDP is totally dead in entire Oroluland and even in the state”.
However, the Director of Media and Strategy for Osun PDP, Prince DIran Odeyemi, dismissed the claim and insisted that PDP is intact in the state and ready for the forthcoming governorship election.
